Tracy Morris

Hometown: Washington, DC

When did you know you wanted to go into design?
At age six. I started building two-story colonials (including the furniture) out of Legos. To this day, if you hand me some Legos, a house will be built.

What is the destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration?
It is hard to name just one. Out of all the places I love, they all have three things in common: Amazing light, architecture with color/texture & full of natural surroundings. It could be a square in the south of France with light streaming on a crumbling wall as the birds swoop overhead. A hiking trail in Beaver Creek CO where the light slices through the bright white aspen trees or a beach in Turks & Caicos where the water is so turquoise that it looks like Disney put food coloring in it. Bottom line, anywhere nature combines with good light & history is a place for me.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I love all things Irish. There is nothing like Irish music to put me in a good mood!

Iconic textile pattern or texture:
Greek Key — small, large, bold, subtle — love them all!

What is the destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration?
There are so many places I’ve been that inspire me including my favorite place to be, the beach, or a bustling city like New York City! The destination that stands out to me the most though, is our own neighborhood — Georgetown in NW DC. The variety of colors, textures, history and architecture are endless in inspiration and ideas!

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I am a mirror image, identical twin!

Cat Jensen

Hometown: New Canaan, Connecticut

When did you know you wanted to go into design?
I’ve always been a visual thinker, a collector of things, and yet appreciative of order. The combination led organically to interior design.

Who is your interior design hero, and what is your favorite space that he/she has decorated?
David Nightingale Hicks: Vila Verde in Portugal— designed down to the last doorknob.

If you were a classic piece of furniture, what would you be?
A 19th century Gustavian Settee, with bolsters.

Tell us something we don’t know.
I studied printmaking in college, could be found in the studio most days.

Sandra Sullivan

Hometown: Montvale, NJ

What is the destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration?
The rocky coastline of Maine. The brooding gray skies and range of sea hues from turquoise to deep gray/blues.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I am a certified wine professional.
