When did you know you wanted to go into design?
At age six. I started building two-story colonials (including the furniture) out of Legos. To this day, if you hand me some Legos, a house will be built.

What is the destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration?
It is hard to name just one. Out of all the places I love, they all have three things in common: Amazing light, architecture with color/texture & full of natural surroundings. It could be a square in the south of France with light streaming on a crumbling wall as the birds swoop overhead. A hiking trail in Beaver Creek CO where the light slices through the bright white aspen trees or a beach in Turks & Caicos where the water is so turquoise that it looks like Disney put food coloring in it. Bottom line, anywhere nature combines with good light & history is a place for me.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I love all things Irish. There is nothing like Irish music to put me in a good mood!

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I I was born in Jerusalem. Raised in L.A. And speak fluent Arabic.

When did you know you wanted to go into design?
My father is an engineer. Growing up, I would sit at his drafting table and use his T-square and templates to reconfigure our floorplan. I thought his mechanical pencils were so cool.

What is unique about the business of interior design, compared to other lines of work?
Interior design combines creativity with logistics. It is all at once personal and detail oriented. Surpassing  client expectations is very rewarding.

If you were a classic piece of furniture, what would you be?
The ever logical and effective Le Corbusier LC2 armchair. Chrome frame. Black leather.

Destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration—and why.
I feel most inspired when I’m in Boston, Massachusetts because it has a little bit of everything. It has wide streets with skyscrapers and it also has narrow cobblestone streets with old historic homes. It’s surrounded by calm waters and right in the center is the tranquil Boston Public Garden. There’s beauty all around the city.

I worked as an archivist for archives and special collections for over ten years.

Destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration – and why.
There are many places I like.  When traveling, I like to visit the public markets and have a sense of how the locals live.

If you were a classic piece of furniture, what would you be?
Not furniture. Perhaps a hand painted azulejo as seen on the walls of buildings and streets in Mediterranean villages.

Best technology to record and share design finds:
Houzz and Pinterest are my favorite apps to browse and organize design finds.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
One of my favorite pastimes is to draw and paint.

What is the destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration?
I don’t have a specific location, but observing nature is my go-to when feeling uninspired. I find much of my creativity and inspiration while out on hikes. The many color patterns and combinations are some of the many things that I love to observe in nature.

If you were a classic piece of furniture, what would you be?
Barcelona Chair

What is the destination that most invigorates your creativity and inspiration?
